Your whole wedding day in one room

A micro wedding puts the people you love most at the centre. At The Harlow Exchange, the ceremony becomes the reception with one quick turn of the chairs: a long dinner table under the columns, toasts by the windows, a first dance on the hardwood.

Bring the caterer whose food you love, the florist whose style you saved, and the playlist you have been building for years. The room adapts to all of it.

Questions and answers

What counts as a micro wedding?

Usually a wedding of 50 guests or fewer with a ceremony and reception together. The Harlow Exchange is built for exactly that size.

Can we hold the ceremony and reception in the same room?

Yes. Most couples do. While guests enjoy cocktails in the lounge corner, your team turns the ceremony seating into dinner tables.

How much does a micro wedding cost here?

Venue rental is by the hour: 5 hours is $700, 8 hours is $950 and 12 hours is $1,200. Catering, rentals and décor are booked directly with the vendors you choose. See every rate.

Do you have tables and chairs for 50?

Included pieces cover a small group: eight Chiavari chairs, two dining chairs, three 6 foot folding tables and lounge seating. For a seated dinner of 50, add rentals; we share our list of rental partners after booking.

Can we bring our own caterer?

Yes, any caterer you like, with no required vendor list. The 500 square foot prep room has a kitchenette with a sink, microwave, mini fridge, water cooler and two coffee machines for staging and service.

Can we serve alcohol?

Yes. Private events that serve alcohol in Manitoba usually need a Social Occasion Liquor Permit from the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba. Your caterer or bartender can help you apply.

Can we play music?

Yes. Two Bluetooth speakers are included: a JBL speaker and an XL rolling party speaker with LED light rings. Planning a DJ, live band or dancing? Tell us when you book and we will confirm the details for your event.

Is there room to dance?

Yes. With tables placed along the windows, the centre of the hall opens into a generous hardwood dance floor.

How long can we book?

Anywhere from one to twelve hours, in one hour blocks. Events wrap by 10pm, and cleanup can run later. If your event runs over, overtime is $250 per half hour.

How do vendors load in?

Through the rear alley. A 6 x 7 foot service elevator rises from the loading dock straight into the suite, so caterers, florists and rental companies can bring in equipment easily. Vendors load in during your booked hours.

Can we use candles?

Open flames, including candles, need written permission first. Flameless LED candles are welcome any time and look lovely against the brick at dusk.

Where do guests park?

Several public lots sit within half a block of 70 Albert Street. Street parking is free for two hours on Saturdays and free all day Sunday. The venue is two blocks from City Hall and a short walk from Portage and Main, with transit nearby.

Is the venue accessible?

The Harlow Exchange is on the second floor of an 1880 heritage building. Guests enter at the corner of Albert Street and McDermot Avenue and climb about 25 stairs. A 6 x 7 foot service elevator runs from the rear alley loading dock, which sits about 3.5 feet above the alley, so it is set up for vendor load-in. If a guest has mobility needs, call us at (204) 400-5700 before booking and we will plan it together.
