I was looking for the perfect venue to celebrate my daughter's 15th birthday party, and I truly found a hidden gem in the Exchange District. They offer incredibly reasonable rates, seamless communication, and a team that is genuinely willing to go above and beyond to help with every single detail. The party was a complete and absolute success.

Winnipeg's newest and oldest event venue
The Harlow Exchange is a restored 1880 loft on the second floor of 70 Albert Street, at the centre of the Exchange District National Historic Site. Original brick, ornate white columns, hardwood floors and twelve foot windows fill 3,700 square feet with morning light.
We are Mark and Anna Eadie. Mark has photographed Winnipeg weddings and events since 2014; Anna brings years of event production. We named the venue after our daughter, Harlow, and set it up the way we always wished venues worked: private, flexible and priced by the hour.
Questions and answers
How many guests fit at The Harlow Exchange?
Up to 50 people at any time, seated or standing. That count includes everyone in the space: guests, vendors, caterers and performers. The 3,700 square foot hall gives 50 people plenty of room to move, mingle and dance.
How much does it cost?
Rentals start at $275 for one hour, and the hourly rate drops the longer you book: 3 hours is $475, 4 hours is $600, 5 hours is $700, 8 hours is $950 and 12 hours is $1,200. See every rate.
Is the venue private during our booking?
Yes. Every booking is exclusive. The full second floor, the prep room and the kitchenette are yours for every hour you reserve, with one event at a time.
Can we bring our own caterer?
Yes, any caterer you like, with no required vendor list. The 500 square foot prep room has a kitchenette with a sink, microwave, mini fridge, water cooler and two coffee machines for staging and service.
Can we serve alcohol?
Yes. Private events that serve alcohol in Manitoba usually need a Social Occasion Liquor Permit from the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba. Your caterer or bartender can help you apply.
Where do guests park?
Several public lots sit within half a block of 70 Albert Street. Street parking is free for two hours on Saturdays and free all day Sunday. The venue is two blocks from City Hall and a short walk from Portage and Main, with transit nearby.
Is the venue accessible?
The Harlow Exchange is on the second floor of an 1880 heritage building. Guests enter at the corner of Albert Street and McDermot Avenue and climb about 25 stairs. A 6 x 7 foot service elevator runs from the rear alley loading dock, which sits about 3.5 feet above the alley, so it is set up for vendor load-in. If a guest has mobility needs, call us at (204) 400-5700 before booking and we will plan it together.
Can we see the space before booking?
Yes. Start with the four minute virtual tour. To walk the loft in person, request a private viewing and we will set a time.
