A room built for focus and conversation

Fresh thinking needs a fresh room. Natural light, high ceilings and a lounge corner for breakouts help teams settle in and do their best work. The loft feels inspiring for creative sessions and polished enough for clients.

In the evening, the same room becomes a product launch, a client reception or a team celebration. Bring your own caterer and set it up your way.

Questions and answers

How many guests fit at The Harlow Exchange?

Up to 50 people at any time, seated or standing. That count includes everyone in the space: guests, vendors, caterers and performers. The 3,700 square foot hall gives 50 people plenty of room to move, mingle and dance.

What setups work for corporate events?

Theatre rows for presentations, rounds or long tables for workshops, a boardroom-style table, or open floor for activities. Bring rentals for larger seated groups; we share partner contacts after booking.

Is there audiovisual equipment?

Two Bluetooth speakers, a power bar and a 30 foot extension cord are included. Bring a screen or projector for presentations, or rent one from an AV partner.

Can you invoice our company?

Yes. Every booking includes an invoice and receipt.

Is there Wi-Fi?

The loft runs without guest Wi-Fi, so bring a mobile hotspot for sessions that need internet. Many teams find the offline focus is part of the appeal.

Can we bring our own caterer?

Yes, any caterer you like, with no required vendor list. The 500 square foot prep room has a kitchenette with a sink, microwave, mini fridge, water cooler and two coffee machines for staging and service.

Can we serve alcohol?

Yes. Private events that serve alcohol in Manitoba usually need a Social Occasion Liquor Permit from the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba. Your caterer or bartender can help you apply.

How long can we book?

Anywhere from one to twelve hours, in one hour blocks. Events wrap by 10pm, and cleanup can run later. If your event runs over, overtime is $250 per half hour.

How much does it cost?

Rentals start at $275 for one hour, and the hourly rate drops the longer you book: 3 hours is $475, 4 hours is $600, 5 hours is $700, 8 hours is $950 and 12 hours is $1,200. See every rate.

How do vendors load in?

Through the rear alley. A 6 x 7 foot service elevator rises from the loading dock straight into the suite, so caterers, florists and rental companies can bring in equipment easily. Vendors load in during your booked hours.

Where do guests park?

Several public lots sit within half a block of 70 Albert Street. Street parking is free for two hours on Saturdays and free all day Sunday. The venue is two blocks from City Hall and a short walk from Portage and Main, with transit nearby.

Is the venue accessible?

The Harlow Exchange is on the second floor of an 1880 heritage building. Guests enter at the corner of Albert Street and McDermot Avenue and climb about 25 stairs. A 6 x 7 foot service elevator runs from the rear alley loading dock, which sits about 3.5 feet above the alley, so it is set up for vendor load-in. If a guest has mobility needs, call us at (204) 400-5700 before booking and we will plan it together.

Can we see the space before booking?

Yes. Start with the four minute virtual tour. To walk the loft in person, request a private viewing and we will set a time.
